Volunteer Coach – Parkinson’s Center YMCA The Parkinson’s Center YMCA is seeking compassionate and dedicated Volunteer Coaches to support our mission of improving the quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. As a Volunteer Coach, you will work closely with our professional wellness team to ensure a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment for all participants. Volunteer Coaches serve as an extra set of eyes and ears during classes and activities—helping monitor safety, offering assistance as needed, and creating meaningful connections with participants. Your presence enhances the overall experience by promoting confidence, motivation, and community within our programs. Key Responsibilities: Support our wellness staff during exercise classes and group sessions for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders. Help ensure participant safety by observing movement, providing appropriate assistance, and promptly communicating any concerns to staff. Engage with participants to encourage motivation, build social connections, and contribute to a positive overall experience. Foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants and caregivers. Assist with class setup, cleanup, and general program needs as requested by the wellness team.
