The Black and Latino Achievers (Achievers) club is a leadership, educational support, career readiness, and college preparation program for youth. It provides youth with the ability to set and achieve high educational and professional goals; receive support from mentors; gain exposure to diverse career options; and develop life skills needed to become successful in school and beyond. 2024 Y-Knot Sailing

YMCA Camp Chingachgook

Y-Knot Sailing​ ​strives to make all aspects of sailing accessible to individuals with disabilities by ​​creating​​​ ​​opportunities​, providing education, and ​promoting disabled sailing within the greater sailing community. Y-Knot’s fleet of adapted sailboats includes three Sonars and six Martin 16s. Joystick autohelm and windlass controls, dock lifts, and personal safety equipment are available to accommodate a variety of special needs. As a program of YMCA Camp Chingachgook, Y-Knot depends on volunteer support for fundraising and program operations. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, have various levels of experience on and off the water, and are the lifeblood of our organization. Join us and help provide a one-of-a-kind sailing experience to people with disabilities this summer - no sailing experience required!

2nd Annual Living Well with Parkinson's Conference

Southern Saratoga YMCA

Volunteers are needed to help us set up or break down tables and chairs for this event! This conference is from 10:00 to 3:00 pm and will have presentations by area health and wellness providers as we explore the benefits of four important topics: • Dealing with Parkinson's effect on Apathy/ Anxiety/Depression • Exercise • Women with PD • Being a caregiver and caring for the caregiver

Advisory Council

Southern Saratoga YMCA

Join us as a volunteer for the Southern Saratoga YMCA Advisory Council. The Capital District YMCA is a volunteer-lead organization. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, these volunteers help provide valuable community perspective, are the YMCA ambassadors, and help fundraise for mission work in Clifton Park and the surrounding communities. This group of volunteers meet every other month from September - June, with opportunities to become involved in additional task forces, committees, and association events. Annual Golf Tournament Task Force

Southern Saratoga YMCA

Join us as a volunteer to assist in the planning and execution of our annual Golf tournament - Fore the Kids. This one of the largest fundraising events for the Capital District YMCA. This task force meets bi-monthly - weekly from April - August via Zoom. The members of this task force assist with working with community partners to secure sponsorships, donations for silent auction and raffle basket items, and volunteering at the event day of on August 5, 2024.

Aquatics - Swim Instructor Assistant

Join us as a volunteer to assist our Swim Instructor staff with swim lessons. This volunteer opportunity is flexible and focuses on helping to teach youth ages 6 months - 12 years old water safety and how to swim. YMCA swim lessons run year round, typically in 4-7 week sessions (meeting once a week). Volunteers shifts are flexible! Basket Brigade Task Force @ Southern Saratoga

Southern Saratoga YMCA

Join us as a volunteer to assist in the planning and execution of our Basket Brigade program. Basket Brigade is one of the Catital District YMCA's key mission programs. Donations and funds are collected to provide a full Thanksgiving meal to families in our community. Each year the Southern Saratoga YMCA makes 180 baskets. This task force meets monthly - weekly from September-November. The members of this task force assist in working with community partners to secure funds, origanize food donations, and planning the basket delivery and pick-up event for families at the Southern Saratoga YMCA.

Bethlehem YMCA

Join the Bethlehem Area YMCA in our town's local Memorial Day Parade! The parade will step off Monday, May 27 at 11:00 am from the American Legion Post 1040 located at Poplar Drive and Herber Avenue in Elsmere. The Bethlehem Police Color Guard will lead the parade which will will proceed on the normal route of down Elsmere Avenue, turning right onto Kenwood Avenue, turning left onto Adams Place, turning right onto Adams Street, finally turning right onto Delaware Avenue and proceeding to the Veterans Memorial Park by the Rail Trail bridge. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be the Annual Town Memorial Day Ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park complete with wreath laying, rifle salute and taps, and flag raising.

Capital Region African Heritage Parade

Administrative Office

Walk with the YMCA The African Heritage Parade brings the African diaspora and the community together to celebrate and share cultures, nationalities, contributions, and education locally and globally. We will line up at Albany's Washington Park at 9:30 AM on Saturday June 15, 2024. At 11 AM the Parade will proceed to the Juneteenth Celebration Block Party at Alice Moore Cultural Center at 135 Madison Avenue. Everyone is welcome.

Childcare - Afterschool Activity Assistant

Join us as a volunteer to assist our Childcare staff in enrichment activities in our afterschool care program. The Capital District YMCA is proud to offer a program called Circle of Champs. This unique program is dedicated to improving the quality of life for families who have a child battling a life threatening illness. What makes this program so special? It's designed and delivered to help each and every person in the family. We give Mom's and Dad's a chance to connect with other families who are dealing with similar difficult situations. We give kids the opportunity to just be a kid and leave their daily challenges behind them, even if only for a little while. For the Circle of Champs event for April, we're treating our Champs families to a family fun day at the Greater Glenville YMCA! ** This event is weather dependent **

Join us as a volunteer at our Member Services desk. Volunteer duties range from greeting and welcoming members, to making new member welcome folders, and assisting Member Services staff. Staff will teach each volunteer during their volunteer time. We are looking for volunteers year-round, from Sunday through Saturday, with a focus on evenings and weekend help. Soccer programs will be taking place both at Bleecker Stadium and Hoffman Park, both in Albany NY this Spring/Summer 2024 (slated to begin in late April, weather permitting, and ongoing through potentially September). Our soccer programs are designed for youth living in the City of Albany that are ages 8 - 15 years old, and the programs will take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings. We are currently searching for volunteer coaches to teach the game of soccer to youth.
